Manifesto23

This portfolio website covers the period from 2019 to 2026, including all assignments completed and positions held in the luxury and fashion show industry. Prior to that, I worked for 8 years (2010–2018) in the mining industry (Rio Tinto Alcan) as the head of a department focused on social and environmental performance and as an auditor.

I have worked as an ISO 20121 auditor for Bureau Betak, then as Head of Sustainability and ISO auditor for The Independents Group, and finally as Head of Environment, Ethics and Reporting Consultant for Bureau Betak.

Kerether.com is my “CSR legacy website”, as in February 2026 I decided to redirect my professional path and move beyond the traditional CSR framework — a discipline that has increasingly become, in my view, primarily a communication tool on one side, and a function driven by Finance departments on the other.

This shift has made it increasingly difficult to dedicate the necessary time to the long-term implementation of practices genuinely rooted in CSR principles, as well as to engage with stakeholders who fully understand the complexity of the discipline. CSR has been diluted, simplified to the point of losing its meaning — sometimes even leading to misunderstandings and contradictions.

One example is the questionable practices of certain CSR organizations or impact-driven companies that, in their efforts to win clients and contracts, end up contradicting the very principles they claim to defend.

This reality has led me to question both my professional path and my personal convictions. In 2010, I entered this field out of genuine belief. I am one of those people who are guided by demanding principles and strong convictions — and without them, I find myself rather lost… You know the type 😉

In my view, CSR is one of the most admirable concepts created throughout our now long economic history, provided that its values truly resonate with us: mutual respect, protection of individuals, preservation of ecosystems, excellence and economic performance.

Today, I want to work more deeply from these foundations, and above all, to have the time required to do so. This decision has led me to leave the professional environment in which I have evolved over recent years, a position and a level of security that were not easy to walk away from. One does not give up such financial stability without experiencing a certain sense of vertigo.

But the excitement of the projects and possibilities ahead proved stronger. So did my deep and personal inability to accept an environment of adversity that I do not understand. Not everyone is driven by relentless competition. To each their own arena, one might say.

What I have experienced within the luxury industry, and particularly at Bureau Betak, is invaluable. The energy, creativity and ambition within this field are extraordinary. Since its “Sustainability Shift” in 2019, Bureau Betak has played a significant role in transforming sustainability practices within the fashion show industry.

The first Annual CSR Report I wrote provides a detailed account of this legacy and its decisive influence within the industry. It can be accessed here.

As for the future of KERETHER, a link to the new website will be available during the fourth quarter of 2026.
